Qantas Airlines “Flight to Nowhere” Sells Out in 10 Minutes

Business Headlines Health World

A sightseeing “flight to nowhere” offered by Qantas airlines sold out within 10 minutes of tickets going on sale.

“It’s probably the fastest selling flight in Qantas history,” Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said in a statement.

“People clearly miss travel and the experience of flying. If the demand is there, we’ll definitely look at doing more of these scenic flights while we all wait for borders to open.”

The seven-hour scenic flight will fly over Queensland and the Gold Coast, New South Wales and the country’s remote outback region in a giant loop.

Amid strict travel restrictions because of Covid19, airlines are offering sightseeing excursions that fly passengers over popular tourist destinations.

The flight is set to depart on October 10. Prices for the 134 tickets on sale, which spanned economy as well as business class, ranged from AUD$787 to $3,787 (US$566 to $2,734).
