PA State Rep. Wendy Ullman Caught on Hot Mic Calling Face Masks “Political Theater” with Gov. Wolf

Headlines Politics U.S.

Pennsylvania State Representative Wendy Ullman (D) was caught on a hot mic today apparently calling the wearing face masks to slow the spread of Covid19 little more than “political theater.”

Ullman was giving a press conference with PA Governor Tom Wolf (D) to discuss affordable health care coverage.

Before the conference begins, Gov. Wolf could be heard off camera saying, “So Wendy, I’m going to take my mask off when I speak,” to Ullman. To which Ullman responds, “I will as well. I’m waiting so we can do a little political theater,” after which she laughs.

“So that it’s on camera,” she adds directly into the microphone, apparently unaware that it was on.

Scientific evidence, including from our own CDC, have found that face masks actually do little to slow the spread of infectious viruses.
