The Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, said today that China is using a wide variety of tactics to influence American lawmakers to get policies enacted that are favorable to the Chinese Communist Party.
China is using blackmail, bribery and covert influence to target members of Congress and make sure “only laws that are favorable to China are passed,” Ratcliffe tells CBS.
China is targeting members of Congress with six times the frequency of Russia and twelve times the frequency of Iran, Ratcliffe says.
