Soros Appoints Lord Mark Malloch-Brown – Former President of Smartmatic – to Head Open Society Foundations

Business Headlines Politics U.S.

Billionaire financier George Soros announced yesterday that he is appointing Lord Mark Malloch-Brown as the new head of the Open Society Foundations, Soros’ philanthropic organization.

“Mark Malloch-Brown will be Open Society’s new president. He is deeply familiar with its work and shares my vision of philanthropy,” Soros tweeted.

Malloch-Brown is the former president of Smartmatic, a voting software company that now stands accused in lawsuits of facilitating voter fraud in the Nov. 3 election.

Smartmatic’s “fact-check” page claimed just weeks ago that Malloch-Brown did not work for Soros and that they were not connected. That page has since been revised.

OSF’s former head Patrick Gaspard stepped down from his post this week amid speculation he is planning on joining a potential Joe Biden administration should he be inaugurated.

Gaspard, in July, called the widespread protests in the US “the moment we’ve been investing in for the last 25 years.”
