The international community is preparing for a return of Obama-era chaos on the world stage should Joe Biden be inaugurated president in January, writes Frances Martel.
Obama’s contradictory foreign policy (i.e. apologizing profusely for American exceptionalism while continuing – and even expanding – the kind of policies Obama purportedly decried), led to chaos in every region of the globe.
In the Middle East, for example, Obama himself sanctioned drone strikes which led to many civilian casualties (and greater hatred and national security threats to the U.S.); his policies along with that of Hillary Clinton caused the violent overthrow of the Libyan government and the subsequent power vacuum there; and the world saw the rise of ISIS.
Latin American communist and socialist dictators (in Venezuela and Cuba) tightened their grip on power, and their citizens.
China and Russia expanded their regional and, by extension, global influence.
Traditional allies all over the world, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Taiwan, and India are preparing for a third Obama term should Biden take office.
