Lin Wood Files New Lawsuit in Supreme Court – Georgia’s Brad Raffensperger “Usurped” Legislature’s Authority with Election Guidelines

Attorney Lin Wood has filed a new lawsuit with the U.S. Supreme Court. The suit names Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger as a defendant.

Wood argues Raffensperger along with state officials “usurped” the legislature’s authority by agreeing to a “settlement” with the Democratic Party earlier this year, and issuing an “Official Election Bulletin.”

The agreement transformed absentee ballot procedures in Georgia. It made it much more difficult (nearly impossible) for an absentee ballot to be rejected based on unverifiable information.

“The effect of the secretary of state’s unauthorized procedure is to treat the class of voters who vote by mail different from the class of voters who vote in-person,” Lin argues. “That procedure dilutes the votes of in-person voters by votes from persons whose identities are less likely to be verified as required by the legislative scheme.”
