Freshman Congresswoman Lauren Boebert: I Will Carry My Firearm to Work in Congress

Newly-elected Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert of Colorado announced yesterday that she will carry her firearm to work everyday in the U.S. Capitol Building.

“I will carry my firearm in D.C. and in Congress. This caused outrage from Democrats and the Media. Why? It’s our job in Congress to defend your rights, including your Second Amendment and that’s exactly what I’m here to do,” Boebert says in a video.

Twenty-one Democrats signed a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asking for a rule change that would prohibit members of Congress from carrying firearms inside the Capitol. In response, eighty-two members signed on to a letter written by Boebert demanding the rule be kept as it is.

“I refuse to give up my Second Amendment rights. I’m a 5-foot tall, 100-pound mom with four children and will be walking to work and serving in one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S.” Boebert wrote.

“I choose to defend my family and my life with all of the force the Constitution provides. I will not let a bunch of gun-grabbing House Democrats take away my Constitutional right to protect myself.”

Boebert has also announced that she will be objecting to Electoral College votes on Jan. 6 due to rampant election fraud.
