Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton Betrays Patriot Movement, Won’t Dispute Electoral College – Trump Slams GOP “Surrender Caucus”

Headlines Politics U.S.

Republican Senator from Arkansas Tom Cotton has announced he will not be objecting to Electoral College votes when Congress meets on Wednesday. It was a startling development involving a Senator who has long painted himself as one of the most conservative figures in Washington and a leading voice of the Patriot movement.

“…objecting to certified electoral votes won’t give the president a second term,” Cotton wrote in a statement. “With Democrats in control of the House, Republicans have no chance of invalidating even a single electoral vote, much less enough votes to deny Joe Biden a majority in the electoral college. Instead, these objections would exceed Congress’ constitutional power, while creating unwise precedents that Democrats could abuse the next time they are in power.”

“For these reasons, I will not oppose the counting of certified electoral votes,” Cotton wrote.

Cotton said he does support the establishment of a commission to investigate election fraud. That however, did little to appease social media users, many of whom are Arkansas voters.

President Trump slammed Cotton and other Republicans who refuse to stand up for election integrity and fight against the massive election fraud that took place on Nov. 3. He labeled them members of the “Surrender Caucus.” Republican voters, he said, will never forget.
