Hearing on Inspection of Fulton County, Georgia, Ballots Subverted – Judge Attempts to Order Transfer

Headlines Politics U.S.

An attempt was made to derail a hearing yesterday in a case that is seeking an inspection of ballots in Fulton County, Georgia.

A group of Georgia voters filed an “immediate motion to compel” against Fulton County officials over election results transferred from the county to the Secretary of State’s office on Election Day. The suit seeks to compel Fulton County to allow ballots cast on election night to be inspected visually.

The group is being represented in the lawsuit by Voters Organized for Trusted Election Results in Georgia (VoterGA).

The hearing was scheduled to take place yesterday at 11am. Instead, the chief judge in the case tried to transfer it to another Judicial Circuit under the pretense it was an election case.

VoterGA plaintiffs filed for violations of Constitutional rights precisely to be able to avoid that. Attorney Todd Harding immediately filed an objection to remand the case back to the original judge before a transfer could be completed.

“We believe that the Fulton Co. Chief Judge attempted to order this transfer because Fulton Co. does not have all of the ballots to inspect and are attempting to confirm that,” said VoterGa founder Garland Favorito in a statement.
