More Holes in ItalyGate “Fact-Checking”: Detailing Leonardo SpA’s Extensive Experience with Satellite Technology

Headlines Politics Technology U.S. World

Fact-checkers attempting to debunk ItalyGate story have claimed the story cannot be true as Italian defense contractor Leonardo SpA does not own or operate any satellites that could have been used to carry out vote manipulation in the Nov. 3 U.S. election. The quickest of Google searches shows that claim to be untrue.

Leonardo boasts more than 35 years of experience in the area of satellite communications right on its own website. “Leonardo has a consolidated portfolio of systems and products which includes fixed, deployable, flyaway, vehicular, naval and man-portable terminals,” it states.

The company claims heavy involvement in SICRAL, the Italian government’s secure communications and alerts system. “The SICRAL programme improves military satellite communications capacity for strategic and tactical links in Italy and for out-of-area operations…” according to the company.

Leonardo subsidiary Telespazio (which 67% owned by Leonardo) claims to be at the “forefront in many sectors: from the design and development of space systems to the management of launch services and satellites in-orbit control, from Earth observation services to communications, navigation and satellites tracking to scientific programs.”

Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between French defense contractor Thales and Leonardo, says its “architects design and deliver high technology solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth observation, environmental management, exploration, science and orbital infrastructures.”

A brochure for Leonardo’s SpA defense communications capabilities boasts capabilities to integrate ground, orbital and network communications systems.

Leonardo’s US division Leonardo DRS has been named the top provider of satellite communications to the U.S. government for five consecutive years.

Leonardo joined the Satellite Industry Association in December 2018.

“We are excited to join the long list of companies as part of the voice of the industry, helping satellite companies navigate and grow in complex environments,” said David Fields, Vice President and General Manager of Leonardo DRS’s Global Enterprise Solutions business unit said at the time. “We look forward in not only adding our experience, but to call upon the knowledge of this organization to continue our growth in the COMSATCOM market,” he said.

And just last month Leonardo announced a 300 million euro agreement with Thales to develop two brand new space satellites.

Whistleblowers have come forward with allegations that votes in the U.S. election were switched from President Trump to Joe Biden using satellite communications hardware owned and operated by Leonardo.

Numerous fact-check articles have been written attempting to “debunk” the allegations which we have addressed here.

Interestingly, we now notice that one of those fact-check articles published by USA Today has acknowledged that part of the funding for its fact-checking comes from Facebook.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg funded many changes in procedure for the 2020 election that some say facilitated massive voting irregularity. See our reporting here, here, here and here.

  1. This is very concerning that our own government and media dismiss everything that doesn’t align with their agenda, even when there is a ton of evidence out there. The people just want a fair election, and for it to be proven to us. Why is that too much to ask for? If it was legitimate, it should be easy for the politicians to prove. But, they’re not doing that. They’re just trying to go down a dark road, silence the other side, and get what they want. This is a scary time we live in… and they’re making it worse by playing games that so many see right through. I’m sad for our country and it’s people. I hope we recover from this.
