President Trump Acquitted in Second Impeachment Trial

Headlines Politics U.S. Videos

President Donald Trump was acquitted this afternoon in the second impeachment trial brought against him by Congressional Democrats. The final vote of 57-43 fell short of the 2/3 majority needed to convict.

Seven Republican Senators crossed party lines to vote with Democrats. They were: Richard Burr (NC), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Ben Sasse (NE), Pat Toomey (PA), Bill Cassidy (LA), Susan Collins (ME) and Mitt Romney (UT).

Some on the left are now pushing for an invocation of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to bar Mr. Trump from holding office again.
