Salvini Endorses Draghi – “He Flipped, Backtracked on Everything”

Matteo Salvini, leader of the populist Lega, or League Party, has switched allegiance and is now backing newly appointed Prime Minister Mario Draghi. The move has left many Italians feeling deeply betrayed.

Salvini was once seen as Italy’s Donald Trump, a leader of a populist revolt in Italian politics that led to much consternation among establishment, pro-European-Union politicians such as former head of the European Central Bank Mario Draghi.

Some say the faith in Salvini was misplaced, however, as he was never the nationalist leader he pretended to be.

“He’s a deep state operative,” Italian journalist Cesare Sacchetti told ITN. “He’s always been that. Since he provoked the collapse of his government. He has been paving the way to Draghi. He flipped, backtracked on everything. Migrants, the EU, etc. In other words, a gatekeeper.”

Sachetti, who publishes the Theyeoftheneedle.com, is currently serving his second suspension from Twitter for trying to shed light on subjects such as ItalyGate, the Covid19 pandemic and The Great Awakening. He has already been banned permanently from Facebook.

“The real leader of the League is Giancarlo Giorgetti, who’s very close to Draghi and to the globalist circles.” Giorgetti, Sachietti points out, just joined Draghi’s government as minister of Economic Development.

Italy has proven hugely important to the expansion of the Chinese Communist Party – along with its enablers – westward.

The CCP considers Italy a main target of its Belt and Road Initiative, a trillion-dollar plan to tie together China, Asia, Africa, South America and Europe through shipping and land-trading routes. The BRI has been widely recognized as a way to bring developing – and then eventually debt-ridden developed – countries into the CCP’s sphere of influence. Such expansion only puts Italy further at risk of falling under the control of outside forces.

“What is unsustainable cannot be sustained, at least not indefinitely,” said The Duran’s Alexander Mercouris. “Keeping this thing going, keeping Italy in this trap is going to squeeze and suffocate Italy even more. It’s going to create more misery and more pain for the Italian people and for the people across southern Europe.”

Pro-EU media outlets such as the Financial Times have been playing down the political cost to Salvini’s endorsement and playing up the pressure Salvini faced to join Draghi’s government. They’ve also been pushing the narrative that Salvini will be able to do more good from inside the establishment than without, a claim Mercouris disputes.

“No doubt he thinks this himself. If he is inside the government then he can do all kinds of things. He can perhaps even try and undermine it a bit from within. The consistent lesson from anybody who tries to work with the European Union in that way is that you don’t actually undermine the system from within. They absorb you.”

Mercouris says Salvini would have been better served to call the bluff of those threatening him and his Party and face the battle head on.

“There is a famous quote by a French prime minister, Pierre Mendes France, who once said to govern is to choose. If you are not able to choose then you cannot govern, and you will lose support in consequence,” he said.

“Another quote by another French leader is – Napoleon by the way – if you want to take Vienna, take Vienna,” Mercouris added. “In other words if you decide that you’re going to set yourself an objective you must pursue it with single-minded focus. If you let yourself get diverted along the way, if you look at…all kinds of ways rounds you won’t take Vienna. You won’t achieve your objective.”

The damage, The Duran’s Alex Christoforou says, may already be done, however.

“So [Salvini] wasn’t the leader that Italy needed. Now when Draghi’s government does fail because…I agree it’s going to fail as everything the EU does fails, Salvini won’t be able to run Italy,” he said. “The Brothers [Party] will be strengthened but it won’t be strong enough to hold a majority or to cobble together some sort of coalition to run government. So you’re just going to fall right back down to the Renzi-type of leaders once again in Italy. The EU puppets again are just going to…form some sort of coalition again and it’ll drag Italy down the pit…and it’ll keep the thing rolling for another two, three, four years until the globalists eventually get their…great reset.”

“They want as much life as they can get out of this until they move over to the next phase of whatever their grand vision is. The Italian people lose but there’s a few oligarchs and the Brussels technocrats, the [Bill] Gates’ of the world…they all win.”

Italy has been the focus of much scrutiny over the last several months as allegations schemes to unravel Donald Trump’s presidency – first through SpyGate and then through ItalyGate – originated there. They were orchestrated and funded, reports say, by former U.S. President Barack Obama and carried out by former Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi.

Renzi precipitated the crisis that brought Draghi into power by ordering ministers from his party to withdraw their support for then Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte last month. At issue was taking on more debt from the European Union that would further beholden Italy to the body, a plan of action Conte was apparently less keen on than some would have liked.

  1. The global capitalist class infiltrates and takes over every organization and institution that it can, from the United Nations to the ACLU. It uses rhetoric about struggling for justice with some sectors and it uses rhetoric about conservative values with other sectors. The rhetoric is not what matters, but global domination by the global capitalist class. I am not concerned about Italy, however, because Juan O Savin has told us that Donald Trump is currently holds the title of Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces. Trump is not going to allow a EU degenerate to rule Italy, a country which carried out an act of war against the U.S. in league with the EU. It ain’t gonna happen. https://www.simonparkes.org/post/simon-recommends-watching-this
