Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has pledged to challenge Electoral College on Jan. 6. Both houses of the U.S. Congress will meet that day to certify the election. It is only after that certification that a president-elect is officially designated.

Gaetz joins Reps. Mo Brooks (R-AL) and Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and incoming Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) as lawmakers who have so far pledged to challenge Electoral College votes.

“On January 6, I’m joining with the fighters in the Congress, and we are going to object to electors from states that didn’t run clean elections,” Gaetz told a crowd during the first day of Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit, held in West Palm Beach, Florida.
