Accounts of a Mysterious “Boss” Instructing Individuals Inside the Capitol on January 6th

According to an eyewitness account there was a mysterious man giving orders to actors within the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. on January 6. And he was directing their movements with stunning accuracy.

“Then he’s saying, ok, look. Where are you? Go down the hall…(this is not exact)…third door on the right. Go in that door. Your first left. Go in that door. It’s on your right.”

The account is given by Rick Gutowski, the owner of a life insurance firm in New Jersey. He spoke with ITN exclusively about what he witnessed that day.

Gutowski and a friend walked to the Capitol after having missed President Donald Trump speak at the Ellipse near the White House in the late morning.

The mood of the crowd initially could be described as festive, Gutowski says. “It was NFL Football game tailgate. I got the impression everybody was really excited to see history made. We felt like we were going to be there when [former Vice President Mike] Pence said no, we’re not taking your crap, send this thing back. We want ten more days for a thorough investigation.”

Events at the Capitol would soon spiral out of control instigated in large measure by men dressed in all black who did not appear to be Trump supporters.

Gutowski attempted to help one such young man who had gotten pepper liquid in his eyes after attempting to storm a side door on the Senate/north side of the Capitol. It was then the mysterious man appeared.

“That’s when this guy comes up next to me. And I’m going to call him the boss,” Gutowski says. “He’s got a Carhartt jacket on. He’s got the green Gator. He’s got a green hat and he’s got a black backpack.”

“He put an arm around each of us and the guy opened a bottle of milk and splashed milk in his face. Actually it’s on the coat that I’m wearing right now.”

A picture of the events of January 6 Gutowski downloaded from the internet and marked up with the location of “the boss.” Gutowski says he gave this photo to authorities.

“Oh he definitely knew him,” Gutowski responded when I asked if it seemed like the man knew the younger, injured individual. “He was responsible for him.”

It was then Gutowski says, the man got a call and began speaking into a microphone underneath his Gator mask.

“So and so is down. I need three more on the back door. I need six over here. What’s going on in the front?” the man asked.

“Who are you guys with, I would love to support you guys,” Gutowski says he asked the man. “He says, ‘Oh no, we’re just concerned citizens. We’re not part of any organization,’” the man allegedly responded.

At that point, Gutowski says he attempted to retrieve his cell phone from his pocket to take pictures. That’s when the man became slightly physical.

“I went to take my camera out and he grabs my wrist. I don’t know what he did to my wrist but I dropped my phone immediately. He’s got a grip and he knows how to use that grip. He’s like hey, if you take your camera out here you’re going to get hurt. People will hurt you. I’m trying to protect you,” the man allegedly said.

“Don’t take a picture of this kid. He’s just an innocent bystander. No pictures ok, over on this side.”

Gutowski, who is currently on the Bigbatusa.org election integrity tour, says he complied with the man’s order. “If I had to guess he’s got some kind of training and the dude is strong.”

It was at that point the man received another call and began directing the movements of individuals inside the building. “At that point the guy breaks away again,” Gutowski says. “He gets a call. And he’s like look, the [expletive deleted] is going down at 6:45[pm]. You have to be out of here by then.”

“He knew what was going on inside. But he never went near the building. He didn’t go inside himself. He didn’t go storm a door. He was hanging back in the crowd. He looked like an everyman. You couldn’t even see his face because it was covered with Gator. His microphone was under his gator. But the color of that jacket stood out like crazy in the crowd. If you wanted to find this guy, you could find him. Because no one was wearing a light colored jacket.”

“He was a commander. He was a boss.”

Gutowski says he called the FBI to report what he saw that day and was subsequently questioned on two separate occasions by agents in the days and weeks that followed. There have been no developments in the case since as far as Gutowski is aware.
